How to do a good photo editing, that’s how to tell a story in images

Photo editing, in a broad sense, is a way of telling stories.
Whether it is a few shots for a magazine or many for an entire book, it is always a narrative, and as such it can be treated.

The first and the last

Regardless of what kind of photography you choose to show, photo editing has some cornerstones. The content, the type and the total number of photos are varied and variable but there are some fixed points to be respected.

Photo editing is a way to tell a story and, like any story, it must have a beginning, an end and something in between that leads to the end.

For this to happen and assuming you have something to say, the most important photos in a portfolio are the first and the last. That the first should be important is quite obvious, it is less intuitive that the last one is fundamental as well. And yet it is a question of starting to tell a story (and therefore to capture the observer's attention) and to conclude it.
